I’ve definitely seen it pointed out that Inception references or alludes to Paprika at times, but after seeing both, they’re not -exactly- the same, just pieces of influence or concepts borrowed. I wouldn’t really call Inception “stealing” outright, though.

Which is what I assumed. Which people do all the time in any form of media. It’s how people grow concepts and build off of each other and it makes everything better.

Of course not everything is protected that way. I still feel like Avatar is a pretty looking Pocahontas.
